What GetPPF is, why it exists, and what we promise not to do.

What GetPPF is, and isn't.

Why

Google “PPF installer London” and the first three results are paid ads from the same two shops. The local pack shows the same handful of names. Reviews are scattered across Google, Trustpilot, Instagram and the installer's own site. Brand certifications get thrown around without verification. Pricing is opaque.

Most “compare installers” pages are lead-resellers. Forms sell your enquiry to three or four shops at once, £30–£80 a lead, regardless of fit. The shop that paid most for the keyword wins the click. The shop that paid most for the lead wins the call. Neither tells you who's any good at wrapping a Porsche bonnet.

GetPPF is directory-only. We earn nothing from the buyer side — no commission, no per-lead fee, no paid “featured” slot. 408 verified UK installers do careful work and never get a fair shot at the buyer. One ranked, cross-checked list, free both sides, is the fix.

Editorial position

Every installer sits on a three-tier trust ladder. The rules are the same for everyone and the tier cannot be bought.

  • Verified — named on the brand's own published installer locator (XPEL, SunTek, STEK, Llumar, Hexis, 3M, Gtechniq, Gyeon or Ceramic Pro), Companies House active, Google Business Profile live with current reviews, and photo evidence of completed work on their own panels.
  • Certified — brand badge visible on their own website or social, but not yet confirmed against the brand's public locator. Real shop, real work, one verification step short of the top tier.
  • Mentioned — trades in PPF or ceramic coating with a verifiable physical address, but no brand certification we can stand behind. Listed for completeness, ranked accordingly.

Two defaults sit underneath the ladder. Photos beat stock images — a profile with real work on real cars outranks one with manufacturer press shots. Reviews beat marketing copy — 150 Google reviews carries more weight than a homepage paragraph about “industry-leading standards”.

How it's built

Every installer was identified through Google Maps, then put through four independent verification inputs before being assigned a tier:

  • 01 · Companies House — active UK entity, registered office, incorporation date. Dormant or dissolved companies are removed.
  • 02 · Brand cert cross-reference — the installer's name and postcode checked against XPEL, SunTek, STEK, Llumar, Hexis, 3M, Gtechniq, Gyeon and Ceramic Pro's own published locators, not their own badge images.
  • 03 · Google Business Profile — rating, review count, review recency, opening hours and category alignment. Profiles with no reviews in the last twelve months are flagged.
  • 04 · Photo evidence — original photography of completed work on the installer's site and Instagram, weighted above stock images, manufacturer renders and reused press shots.

Those four inputs feed a 0–100 trust score weighing review quality, cert source, photo evidence, social activity and longevity. The score sets the tier. The tier sets the rank. You can't buy a higher tier. Full methodology.

What we won't do

The rules we put on ourselves are shorter than the ones we put on installers.

  • Not a broker. Quote forms send direct to the installer you picked — one shop, one enquiry, nobody else cc'd.
  • Not an installer. We don't wrap cars, sell film, or quote on jobs. The directory is the product.
  • Not a lead-reseller. We don't sell your enquiry on to a ring of installers, and we don't price leads to shops by postcode.
  • Not commission-takers. No cut on bookings, no affiliate kick on quotes, no “featured” slot you can buy for £99/month.

Revenue comes from one place: premium-tier installer subscriptions shipping Q3 2026 — paid tools for shops (claim, photo management, response analytics, enquiry routing). Tier, ranking and directory visibility stay free whether the shop pays for tooling or not. Mid-decision? how to choose a PPF installer and XPEL vs SunTek vs STEK are the two guides buyers send themselves before requesting a quote.

Who runs it

GetPPF is operated by Seven Marketing, a UK SEO and PPC agency in the automotive niche. We build niche directory and comparison sites alongside the client work. Built with Next.js, hosted on Vercel, run by one person. Found something wrong on the directory? Email us — usually fixed inside a working day.

Editorial team

Chris Stott, Editor, writes and signs off the guides, methodology and rankings. Trust scores, tier moves, and any installer pulled or promoted go through one named editor — no “our team” copy hiding the call. The author page lists coverage scope, disclosures and how to flag an error.
