London is the most demanding PPF market in the UK, and it shows in the bookings. The cars rolling into Park Royal, Wandsworth and Bethnal Green are the ones the rest of the country reads about: 720S, GT3 RS, G63, Range Rover SVR, the occasional Pagani, and an unusual concentration of black-on-black Defender 110s. Owners here treat film as the cost of doing business — a £180,000 hood doesn't survive a winter in W11 or a school run through Holland Park without it. The bigger installers know this and price accordingly.
What sets London apart is depth. Topaz Detailing operates one of the largest XPEL-certified facilities in Europe out of Park Royal and tends to run a four-to-eight week book. Polimax handles a more discreet clientele from Bethnal Green and Wimbledon. Chelsea Coachworks in Wandsworth has built a reputation around full-build supercar work, often paired with paint correction before film goes down. South of the river, Creative FX in Bromley anchors the Kent border and pulls in a steady flow of Range Rovers and AMG saloons.
Most London owners are also paying for protection against the city itself rather than motorway grit — kerbed wheels, scuffed lower doors, supermarket-car-park door dings around Sloane Square, and the unpleasant chemistry of London rain. That tilts the brief towards full-front, A-pillars, full bonnet and rocker panels rather than minimalist bumper-only kits. Matte PPF finishes are unusually popular here, particularly on G-Wagens and Defenders.
If you live inside the M25 you do not need to drive far. If you live just outside it, you are still spoilt for choice — Reading, Bromley and the Surrey corridor all sit within an hour. The trade-off in London is wait time. The installers people actually want to use are rarely available next week, and walk-in slots are almost always a sign you should keep walking.
