Cardiff is the centre of gravity for PPF in Wales. The local scene is smaller than the major English cities but has matured over the last few years into a credible market in its own right, with a handful of independent specialists working out of units across Cardiff Bay, the Newport corridor and the Vale of Glamorgan. Most of the visible installers are XPEL- or SunTek-certified, and the standard at the top end is good.
The client base leans heavily toward prestige saloons and SUVs — Range Rover, RS Audi, AMG and BMW M-cars dominate — with a steady Porsche flow around the Penarth, Llandaff and Cyncoed postcodes. The supercar scene is smaller and more discreet than the English equivalents but exists, particularly on the back of the rugby and entrepreneurial money around the city. Welsh country-estate cars — Defenders, Discoveries, Bentayga — turn up more often than the city's reputation suggests, often coming in from the Brecon Beacons fringe and the rural Vale.
The Severn crossings change the calculus completely. Bristol is forty minutes away on a clear M4, which means Cardiff clients have a credible second market just over the bridge — Topaz Detailing's Bristol site, in particular, draws regular Welsh bookings. For high-spec full-body supercar work, Bristol is often the default. For everyday prestige protection, partial kits and ceramic, Cardiff installers are now perfectly capable.
Pricing is generally below Bristol and well below London — a full-body kit typically lands at the lower end of the £3,000-£4,000 range. Lead times are healthier than the English cities: one to three weeks at most installers outside peak. Coverage thins out quickly outside Cardiff and the M4 corridor — Swansea has a small local scene, but North Wales clients almost always travel either to Cardiff, Manchester or Liverpool.
