Front End / Partial PPF / Track Pack listings verified methodology
Front-end protection covering bonnet, wings, bumper, mirrors and headlights. The 80/20 cost-vs-coverage choice for most owners.
What the service actually is, what's in scope, what it costs in the UK, and which buyer it suits.
Partial PPF — also called a track pack or front-end pack — wraps the panels that take the worst of the stone-chip and motorway-grit hits, while leaving the rest of the car in bare paint. Film typically goes on the bonnet, front bumper, wings, mirror caps, headlights and A-pillars. Boot lid, roof, doors and rear quarters stay unprotected. The headline buyer: daily-driver and weekend prestige owners who want chip resistance on the leading edges without the cost of a full wrap.
Standard front-end coverage: full bonnet, full front bumper, both front wings, mirror caps, headlight lenses and the lower A-pillar sections where stones flick up off the bonnet edge. Mid-tier track packs add the leading 12-18 inches of the roof, the leading arch lips on all four corners, the door cup handle recesses, and the rocker panel / sill leading edges. Top-spec track packs extend to full A-pillars, the full roof leading section, and the luggage-loading area on the rear bumper. Pre-fit work: machine paint correction on any panel receiving film (chips and swirls get locked under the PPF if skipped), full panel decontamination with iron-fallout remover and clay, and edge-wrapping where the panel geometry allows — bonnet shut-lines, bumper undersides, wing-to-door gaps. Where edges can't be tucked, the installer should knife-cut 2-3mm inside the panel edge so the film line sits clean rather than lifting.
Front-end only (bonnet, bumper, wings, mirrors, headlights) on a daily / prestige saloon: £900-1,400. Same scope on a prestige SUV or estate: £1,100-1,600. Supercar front-end (911, AMG GT, F-Type, R8): £1,400-2,000 — tighter curves and more film waste. Full track pack (front end plus partial roof, arch lips, rocker leading edges, A-pillars): £1,800-2,800 on prestige, £2,400-3,500 on supercar. Hypercar front-end or track pack: £3,000-5,500 depending on bumper complexity and bonnet vent count. Matt-finish film: add 15-20%. Paint correction before fit, if needed, is usually quoted separately at £300-700.
The default choice for daily-driven prestige and performance cars — Macan, M340i, RS3, M2, GR Yaris, 911 Carrera daily, F-Type weekender. Owners who do motorway miles, park in public car parks, and want the high-impact panels protected without paying full-body money. Also the sensible pick for a 2-4 year ownership horizon where resale matters but a full wrap won't earn its cost back. Track-day cars get the extended pack to cover stone-strikes from cars in front on circuit access roads.
