Is LLumar Platinum PPF a credible alternative to XPEL?

Yes. LLumar Platinum Gloss carries a 10-year manufacturer's limited warranty. LLumar says the film self-heals with heat from the engine or sunlight and uses its HydroGard water-repellent layer. LLumar's Valor film carries a 12-year limited warranty. Compare the written warranty terms and the installers quoting you, not only the brand name.

How do I verify a LLumar dealer?

LLumar points buyers to their local LLumar dealer or distributor. LLumar also sells window film, so confirm that the installer fits LLumar paint protection film, not only tint. Ask for the warranty terms in writing for the exact film being quoted.

Eastman-owned (same parent as SunTek), but historically stronger in tint than PPF in the UK. The Platinum film is the one to ask for — the older Llumar PPF lines lag behind XPEL and SunTek on optical clarity.

The warranty, honestly

10-year limited warranty on Platinum, but the small print is more restrictive than XPEL or SunTek — installation defects and edge lifting often aren't covered.

How to verify an installer

Llumar's UK dealer network overlaps heavily with tint shops, so verify the installer specifically does Platinum PPF (not just window film). Llumar SelectPro Dealers are the credible tier.

The LLumar read
